Desi Licheva-Brunelleschi is an experienced international lawyer with demonstrated history of working in the international arena and insurance industry. Skilled in Supervisory Law and Governance, Regulatory Compliance, Financial Crimes, Training and Capacity building.

Presently, Ms. Licheva-Brunelleschi works at Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty as Corporate Governance Manager, responsible for corporate, governance and regulatory matters.

Prior to this, she worked for 12 years in the area of rule of law and development at the International Development Law Organization. She was responsible for the design, monitoring, and execution of multicultural projects in Europe, Africa, Middle East and Asia. Examples of her work include, among others, establishing of the Judicial training Institute in Kenya, programs with the Supreme Court of Kenya, legal aid to the Attorney General’s Office of Myanmar, judicial capacity building program with the Supreme Court of Yemen. She also worked on international development programs in cooperation with organizations such as the World Bank, UNDP, UNODC, International Criminal Court, and a number of regional governments, donors and development agencies. Prior to this she worked as a corporate lawyer and governance manager at Uding & De Jong law firm in The Hague, The Netherlands.

Ms. Licheva-Brunelleschi started her career working for the Bulgarian Ministry of Justice, being responsible for the harmonization of the Bulgarian legislation with the EU law in the area of financial service. In this capacity, she took part in drafting of the law anti-money laundering and setting the Bulgarian Financial Investigation Unit.

Ms. Licheva-Brunelleschi holds dual degrees in Master of Laws and Master of Economics with numerous postgraduate specializations in the area of the European and International Law from prestigious institution among which Leiden University (NL), College of Europe (BE) and The Academy of American and International Law (USA).

She was also Awarded Bristol Who’s Who Certificate for professional accomplishments.
